Never forget,
whatever she makes
she can also destroy.
like a god throwing genocidal
temper tantrums
for worshiping the wrong deity,
with vengeance
of a woman scorned,
Mother Nature
whirls hurricanes,
twirls thunderstorms,
shakes things up with richter nines.
She sends tornados,
dancing tarantella,
across midwestern plains,
ignites flames of rage
across mountain towns,
western forests and grasslands.
She kills crops with summer snow,
withers heartlands with heatwaves,
desiccates with drought.
In her rage, she feeds islands
and coastlines to tsunamis,
freezes great lakes, melts polar icecaps.
There’s no denying,
when we ignore her warnings,
Mother Nature’s a bitch.
